Hoyo Azul is a striking limestone sinkhole filled with electric-blue water surrounded by thick jungle. You follow a short, well-kept trail through the trees, descend some stairs, and then swim in surprisingly cool, clear water. The whole visit usually takes 2–3 hours including transport. It feels more like a structured nature stop than a wild adventure—expect wooden platforms, ropes, and other visitors. The color is genuinely beautiful on sunny days, but the experience is brief once you’re in the water.

Best time is December to April when it’s drier and less humid. Avoid peak cruise-ship days if you can; mornings are noticeably less crowded than afternoons. Expect to pay around $90–$140 per adult including round-trip transport from Punta Cana resorts, guide, and entry. Kids are roughly half price. Basic tickets without extras are at the lower end.
