Ziplining in Mauritius: What You Need to Know

Expect a short burst of adrenaline above green valleys or waterfalls, usually lasting 15-45 minutes depending on the package. Most setups have 2-4 lines with solid safety briefings and harnesses. The scenery is the real draw: you'll glide over forest, ravines, or near small cascades. It's not a full-day thrillfest like some adventure parks; think of it as a fun add-on rather than the main event. Heights range from gentle to mildly stomach-dropping, but nothing extreme.

The coolest time is the dry season from May to November when rain is less likely and the views are sharper. December to April can work but expect possible afternoon showers that might delay or cancel runs. Expect to pay around $20-95 per person: simple valley courses sit at the low end while waterfall or longer experiences push toward the higher figure. Book ahead in peak season.

Pick the Vallée de Ferney or similar southern parks if you want decent length and scenery without the tourist crowds. Skip the ultra-short hotel-run "ziplines" that feel more like a paid photo op. Wear closed shoes, bring a light jacket for wind at height, and don't overpay for add-ons like photos unless you really want them.
