A private full-day deep dive into Península Valdés UNESCO reserve — elephant seals, Magellanic penguins, sea lions, and the legendary orca strandings beach. Patagonia's greatest wildlife spectacle, entirely at your own pace.
What to expect
Your private guide collects you at the port and drives you deep into the UNESCO biosphere reserve, stopping first at Punta Norte — the gravel beach where orcas intentionally strand to ambush sea lions (seasonal, Apr–May). You then wind south to the dramatic Caleta Valdés lagoon to watch elephant seals spar in the surf. The afternoon is spent at Puerto Pirámide for a whale-watching boat ride, before a sunset return along the empty steppe road with rheas and guanacos alongside you.
Good to know
Full-day tour runs approximately 10 hours — confirm all-aboard time with the ship and book the earliest departure. Orcas are most active April–May; southern right whales June–December; elephant seals and penguins year-round. Reserve entrance fee (approx. USD 20 pp) is additional. Pre-book directly — Sentir Patagonia is a well-regarded Puerto Madryn specialist confirmed by cruise travellers.
