What to expect
Departing from Puerto Madryn's protected bay, the Zodiac heads to known aggregation zones within Golfo Nuevo where southern right whales (June–December) come to breed and calve in warm, sheltered water. On the return, look out for Commerson's dolphins riding the bow wave — a bonus spectacle unique to Patagonian waters.

Season is June through December; peak activity July–October for calves. Morning departures offer calmer sea conditions. Transfer from the port is just 5 minutes on foot. Allow 2.5 hours total.
